Lakes are brilliant; Whippoorwill Lake is a lake that's in the neighborhood of Hickory Lake, and Hickory Lake is a tremendous spot to visit for more than one day, Broomsage Ranch is a tremendous spot to camp       nearby. There's some exciting stuff to see at Hickory Lake Dam close to Hickory Lake, and whitewater paddling is pleasant on Sand Creek - Cobbs Fork. Hickory Lake gets a normal amount of rainfall; during the month of July you get the most rain around here, and January is the month with the least moisture. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Hickory Lake has to offer, you can camp at Green Meadow Flea Market, and you're sure to come across                  some friendly people from North Vernon here. During the warmest time of the year, highs usually are in the 80's at Hickory Lake; the overnight is a little chillier of course, typically in the 60's.
