Blue Springs Park is a great place for that. There are some glorious whitewater spots on Sand Creek - Cobbs Fork, and if you're here you will meet lots of people from nearby Greensburg. This lake is so wonderful. A great close by
hotel is Lees Inn Greensburg, and do stop at Greersburg City Park Lake, it's a delightful lake.
Greenburg Reservoir gets a typical amount of yearly precipitation; July is the month that gets the most rain, and January is when it's the driest.
