     Camping is available at Mink Lake; if you've had enough of Chestnut Lakes, Morgan Lake is nearby. For the duration of the summer, highs mostly are in the 80's at Chestnut Lakes with nighttime lows in the 60's. Through the wintertime the highs are frequently in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Chestnut Lakes are in the 10's. Chestnut Lakes gets a normal amount of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is frequently June, that's the one that rains  
   the most; February meanwhile is the driest month. If you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Brassie Golf Club is in close proximity; if you need a place to stay Hilton Garden Inn Chesterton is a delightful choice.
Best Western Indian Oak is a tremendous spot to get some rest, and Chestnut Lakes is not the only place close by, Mud Lake is a close by lake. Whohoo, so much fun stuff in one place! Chestnut Lakes is excellent! If you're visiting
 
               Chestnut Lakes from Michigan City-La Porte, you won't be the only one, and Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore is a fine local destination. This lake is so wonderful. Some of the water close by flows, like Coffee Creek; a fine location to camp here at Chestnut Lakes is Sand Creek Campground.

Our family spent Labor Day Weekend at this RV campground. The fishing was great and the lake very clean. We camped with 5 families and had a wonderful time. Our family is looking forward to next year's vacation. We caught a 16 Bass and the park even took a picture of it for us. Very friendly atmosphere.
