Camping is available at Sand Creek Campground, and unsurprisingly, this is a tremendous region for people who like lakes, Pratt Lake is a lake close by. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Lake Charles. Summer night lows sink down to the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's; night lows during the winter for Lake Charles tend to be in the 10's. Take a look at nearby Cowles Bog. This lake is so wonderful.  | We had a great time during our vacation during Labor Day weekend 2006. We camped with 5 families and there was always something to do. Entertainment was none stop and the fishing with family was great.

Lake Minnehaha
 | Our family spent Labor Day Weekend at this RV campground. The fishing was great and the lake very clean. We camped with 5 families and had a wonderful time. Our family is looking forward to next year's vacation. We caught a 16 Bass and the park even took a picture of it for us. Very friendly atmosphere.

While it’s unclear whether the State will put ''trail closed'' signs up, there is no apparent money to maintain them and fallen trees, washouts, and other issues will undoubtedly happen.
