There are tremendous sites to explore along the Beaver Trail, and why not camp at Double M Campground if you're here at Willow Lake. Going for a hike on the River to River Trail is always a great adventure, and if you need a location to stay Comfort Inn Harrisburg is a great choice. Lake Murphysboro Dam is worth a visit while you're here, and since you're here, you could also stop by striking Lake Murphysboro. Any time is a perfect time at Willow Lake if you love

All through the summer at Willow Lake highs are usually in the 80's with overnight lows in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's while Willow Lake nighttime low temperatures all through the wintertime are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful.
Get drenched paddling on Bear Branch. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is pleasant on Lusk Creek, and Snockey Pond is a nearby lake that you could take a look at.

 | My grandfather Andrew James Berkel assisted in digging the lake just after the 1937 flood of Shawneetown. The digging was done with plows and 2 horses. His father also assisted in the beginning . Around 1939 a family friend by the name of Cecil Church began to assist, he brought in a Ford bucket tractor to aid in the digging process. The lake was finished somewhere in between 1940-1943. They also constructed 8- 8 by 12 plywood boats before fishing the lake.... |
