If you came for an overnight stay Schaul Country Lakes is a brilliant site to camp, and Raging Buffalo Snowboard Park (Snowboarding only - no skiing) has great slopes and a friendly staff. Renwood Golf Course is a golf course right next door to Waterford Lake. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing things in the vicinity of Waterford Lake. Really magnificent skiing awaits you at Wilmot mountain, and there's great hiking along the Volo Bog Interpretive Trail.

Lake; it's nearby; a glorious nearby hotel is Comfort Suites Grayslake. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Waterford Lake without first going for a hike along the Tamarack View Trail, and whitewater paddling is great on Pike River.
After a long day outdoors Comfort Inn & Suites Antioch is a glorious place to spend a night or two; hiking is a popular thing to do around Waterford Lake; Lake Defiance Nature Trail is a great local trail. The annual precipitation
here at Waterford Lake is about average; August is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of the months is February. Lake Linden Dam is a beautiful location next to Waterford Lake, and you'll meet a lot of folks from Racine here.
