A golf course near Turtle Lake is Westview Golf Course, and in all probability you're looking for nearby lakes? Sure, Twin Lake is just a very short distance away. This lake is so wonderful. Quincy - Days Inn is a delightful place to get some rest; paddling on Cedar Creek is so much fun. A great place to camp here at Turtle Lake is Valley View Mobile Home

| | Park, obviously you could also go to Snyder Lake while you're here; it's not far at all. Visit Mill Creek since you're here at Turtle Lake, and camping is available at Bayview Campers Park. A great location to pop by close to Turtle Lake is Distillery Hollow, and get drenched paddling on Fall Creek. Cedar Creek
 | 1 PHOTO In response to keith's note. I've kayaked Cedar Creek several times. During heavy rain events the creek is VERY wild. And while yes it is bony, it's a fun ride.. especially since it's one of the only places to get above a class II ride around quincy. Additionally, DO NOT go to bear creek unless you plan on doing some flat water near where it meets the mississippi river. Any further upstream and you'll be dealing with hostile landowners who aren't aware of the navigability laws in illinois. You'll probably be met by a sherrif on the take out. See uploaded picture of cedar creek a couple of years ago.... |
