If the weather is magnificent here at Tomahawk Lake, you can go for a hike along the Lake Defiance Nature Trail, and there are other locations here than Tomahawk Lake, for example Lily Lake. Dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Chicago-Crystal Lake, Il; an afternoon playing golf at Mehenry Country Club is always a pleasure. All the outdoors cool stuff close to Tomahawk Lake will keep you coming back repeatedly.

| | highs at Tomahawk Lake usually tend to be in the 80's while overnight lows are ordinarily in the 60's. For the period of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Tomahawk Lake. This lake is so wonderful. slopes of Wilmot mountain is just what you need, and on a splendid day you can stop by Leatherleaf Bog, a swamp near Tomahawk Lake.
The skiing at Raging Buffalo Snowboard Park (Snowboarding only - no skiing) is wonderful, and
Super 8 Motel - Mchenry is a great location to get some rest. Whohoo, so much amusing stuff in one place! Tomahawk Lake is excellent! On a wonderful day at Tomahawk Lake you can take a hike along the Leather Leaf Bog Trail; you can
stay the night at Fox Valley Camp Ground. Not far from Tomahawk Lake you obtain some pleasant water scenery at McHenry Lock and Dam, and there is a nice hiking trail nearby called the Lake Defiance Trail.
The annual precipitation
here at Tomahawk Lake is about average; July is when you get the most rain here, and February is when it's the driest. Lac Louette is a perfect lake close to Tomahawk Lake; whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend White River.
