From a rain point of view Thunderbird Lake is a pretty common location; throughout July this area sees the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. For the period of the warm days of summer here at Thunderbird Lake, high temperatures regularly get into the       80's. Summer overnight lows sink down to the 60's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are generally in the 20's; after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures at Thunderbird Lake descend into the 10's. Super 8 McHenry is a tremendous place to get some rest. If the weather is tremendous here at Thunderbird Lake, you can go for a hike along the Lake Defiance Trail; paddling on White River is so much fun. What a site this is for outdoors                  folks. Thunderbird Lake is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Pistakee Fishing Club is a perfect local campground, and a round of golf at nearby Prairie Isle Golf Club is a tremendous way to kill some time. This lake is so wonderful. A lovely lake like Lake Killarney right next door to Thunderbird Lake is a perfect place to visit; a day on the slopes of Wilmot mountain is just what you need. This lake is so wonderful. If you're visiting Thunderbird Lake from Whitewater, you won't be the only one, and if you're here you can take a hike along the Leather Leaf Bog Trail. Head up to Raging Buffalo Snowboard Park (Snowboarding only - no skiing) and strap some skis to your feet; Thunderbird Lake is a tremendous lake close by. Time spent at Indian Trail Beach near Thunderbird Lake is always tremendous.
