Thompson Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Crab Orchard Camp Grounds is a great local campground, and since you're here, you could also explore pretty Deer Lake. If only every spot had this much outdoors enjoyable things, what a       great world it would be. Enjoy a round of golf at Jackson Country Club not far from Thompson Lake, and Carbondale Super 8 Motel is a magnificent site to get some rest. Camping at Devil's Kitchen Boat Dock is always a perfect experience; whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Little Grassy Creek.
