Buck Ridge Campground
| 13 miles away Buck Ridge Campground was closed in 2007 and I'm very upset to see that happen. The area is depressed and could really benefit from this wonderful campground. You can still hike in but we will miss our trips and the wonderful memories that awaited us. I'm truly upset about this loss. The park is gorgeous. I hope to see an outpouring of requests to reopen this national treasure.... |
Squirrel's Nest

I talked with the manager who was very nice and had my name put on the waiting list, so hopefully I will get a site there in the near future....The squirrel's nest has improved so much since a new manager has taken over, this is now one of the nicest campgrounds in southern illinois but its very hard to get a site here cause its full and no one wants to leave... |
