If you are in Lake county it's always a good idea to stop by Sterling Lake. Hiking along the Tamarack View Trail is perfect fun; a great place to camp here at Sterling Lake is Happy Acres Kamp Ground. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Root River, and the snow is nice at Wilmot mountain. But wait, there's more to do in close proximity to Sterling Lake. A nice nearby hotel is Radisson Hotel & Conference

There are some tremendous whitewater spots on Pike River; Sterling Lake is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Fox River Recreation is a nice local campground. An average amount of rainfall falls at Sterling Lake; most of the rain falls during August, and February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful.

temperatures commonly get into the 80's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's generally in the 60's. Through the winter the highs are frequently in the 20's, and overnight lows at Sterling Lake throughout the wintertime commonly
sink into the 0's. If you're a golfer then a glorious close by course is Midlane Country Club, and you don't must go far to enjoy Van Patten Woods Forest Preserve.
