Camping is available at Pine Hills Campground, and Union County Country Club is a golf course close by. Anna State Hospital Reservoir Dam is striking and it's near State Pond, and you can run the rapids of Little Grassy Creek. If you need a site to stay SUPER 8 MOTEL - ANNA is a fine choice; if you're here you will meet lots of folks from close by Carbondale. This lake is so wonderful.       A good close by hotel is Econo Lodge Carbondale; going for a hike along the Opossum Trot Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. So much exciting stuff to do here at State Pond, too nice to be true. A nice site near State Pond is Kratzinger Hollow; if you came for an overnight stay Little Grassy Lake Campground & Marina is a great spot to camp. State Pond gets a lot of water; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain, and the                  driest month is January. At State Pond through the summer highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 60's.
