There's some flowing water close by, Chicago River is a stream you can stop at while here; a tremendous beach nearby is Fullerton Beach. The amount of rain that falls at South Pond is close to the national average; most of the rain falls through August; the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. Beaches are magnificent; and North Avenue Beach near South Pond is no exception; Illinois & Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor is one of the destinations

| | that are great to check out nearby. Summer brings highs in the 80's to South Pond with overnight lows in the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for South Pond. Why not camp at Joy Of The Game while you're here at South Pond, and swamps like Ogden Slip close to South Pond make for good locations to check out. is Eugenie Terrace; since you're here, you could also stop by stunning South Lagoon. South Pond is a place with many visitors from Chicago-Naperville-Joliet, and Shore Arm Breakwater is a scenic site, positively worth taking a look
at. This lake is so wonderful. The Belden-Stratford Hotel is a splendid spot to get some rest. North Pond is a nearby lake that you could stop at; you are next to Belmont Harbor if you're here.
