Snyder Lake is a nice lake to visit. If you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Fall Creek, and Snyder Lake is a pleasant place to visit for more than one day, Valley View Mobile Home Park is a pleasant place to camp nearby. This lake is so wonderful. For you golfers we recommend close by Westview Golf Course, and Snyder Lake is a place with many visitors from Quincy. This lake is so wonderful. And that's not all you can do here

| | at Snyder Lake. While you're here at Snyder Lake, you could also stop at striking Twin Lake; you could always explore Distillery Hollow. After a long day outdoors Quincy - Days Inn is a delightful spot to spend a night or two; you can stay the night at Bayview Campers Park. Mill Creek is a pretty stream that is worth visiting, and do stop by Turtle Lake, it's a lovely lake. A brilliant close by hotel is Microtel Quincy; a great location for whitewater paddling | |

 | 1 PHOTO In response to keith's note. I've kayaked Cedar Creek several times. During heavy rain events the creek is VERY wild. And while yes it is bony, it's a fun ride.. especially since it's one of the only places to get above a class II ride around quincy. Additionally, DO NOT go to bear creek unless you plan on doing some flat water near where it meets the mississippi river. Any further upstream and you'll be dealing with hostile landowners who aren't aware of the navigability laws in illinois. You'll probably be met by a sherrif on the take out. See uploaded picture of cedar creek a couple of years ago.... |
