If you are in Lake county it's always a good idea to stop by Slocum Lake. An average amount of rain falls at Slocum Lake; during the month of July you get the most rain around here while February is typically the driest month. Slocum Lake is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Fox Valley Camp Ground is a nice local campground, and glorious water scenery is available at Island Lake Dam right next door to Slocum Lake. | | Trail offers hiking at its best, and North Tower Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop by. Take a side tour to Mutton Creek; the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Raging Buffalo Snowboard Park (Snowboarding only - no skiing). Dry warm beds await you at Barrington/Nw Chicago Days Inn, and camping at Alfred Keil is always a perfect experience. Now, you may think that's lots but there's even more enjoyable stuff to do here at Slocum Lake. | |

Slocum Lake is right by the Fox River Trail; if you're here, you could also take a look at pretty Island Lake. If you need a place to stay Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites LAKE ZURICH-BARRINGTON is a great choice; why not take
a refreshing hike along the Lake Defiance Nature Trail. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Slocum Lake while night lows are regularly in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Slocum
Lake are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Golf can be played at Chalet Hills Golf Club, and swamps like Cotton Creek Marsh are fun to stop by. Head up to Wilmot mountain and strap some skis to your feet.
