     Sill Lake is a nice lake to visit. Sill Lake gets a normal amount of precipitation; July is when you get the most rain here while February is usually the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Quincy, IL; Whispering Oaks Campgrounds is a great local campground. This lake is so wonderful.
If you go for the outdoors, you'll adore Sill Lake. There is a nice hiking trail right next door to Sill
 
   Lake called the Locust Lane Nature Trail, and Sill Lake is a fine location to visit for more than one day, City of Keokuk Campground is a fine location to camp nearby. Holiday Inn Express Keokuk,Ia is a fine spot to get some rest, and there are plenty of people from Quincy here. Lakes? Sure, Lima Lake is in close proximity, and there's whitewater on Bear Creek for all you adrenaline junkies.
High temperatures at Sill Lake through the long summer days are
 
               in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Sill Lake. Not far from Sill Lake, you'll find Scheuermann Lake which is a beautiful lake, and get your heart pumping on the great whitewater of Cedar Creek. It's a brilliant idea to stop by Buel Branch, it's next to Sill Lake, and Sill Lake Dam has glorious water scenery.

In response to keith's note. I've kayaked Cedar Creek several times. During heavy rain events the creek is VERY wild. And while yes it is bony, it's a fun ride.. especially since it's one of the only places to get above a class II ride around quincy. Additionally, DO NOT go to bear creek unless you plan on doing some flat water near where it meets the mississippi river. Any further upstream and you'll be dealing with hostile landowners who aren't aware of the navigability laws in illinois. You'll probably be met by a sherrif on the take out. See uploaded picture of cedar creek a couple of years ago....
