Devil's Kitchen Boat Dock is a good local campground, and whitewater paddling is great on Little Grassy Creek. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Security Club Lake, and the night is somewhat chillier of course, commonly in the 60's. Throughout the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 30's, and nighttime lows at Security Club Lake through the wintertime commonly fall into the 20's. Just took a drive thru the Squirrels Nest Campground. The place is beautiful and very well kept up. I talked with the manager who was very nice and had my name put on the waiting list, so hopefully I will get a site there in the near future....The squirrel's nest has improved so much since a new manager has taken over, this is now one of the nicest campgrounds in southern illinois but its very hard to get a site here cause its full and no one wants to leave... |
