Whitewater paddling is wonderful on Mississippi River, and Cahokia RV Parque is a glorious local campground. A common amount of rainfall falls here at Saunders Lake; May is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of the months is January. At Saunders Lake all through the summertime highs are in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. For the duration of the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 10's

Holiday Inn ST. LOUIS-SOUTH COUNTY CENTER is a great location to get some rest, and why not take a little trip to Carr Creek if you're here. What a location this is for outdoors people. Very striking scenery and tremendous skiing is what you get at Hidden Valley, and Terry Spring is a pretty location to explore while you're at Saunders Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Enjoy a round of golf at River Lakes Golf Course not far from Saunders Lake, and Porter Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop by. After a long day outdoors Holiday Inn
ST. LOUIS-SOUTH (I-55) is a glorious location to spend a night or two, and Saunders Lake is a good place to visit for more than one day, St. Louis South RV Park is a good place to camp nearby.

Cahokia RV Parque
 | We spent a couple of nights at the Cahokia RV Parque recently and we were very satisfied. The location is off of a main road (IL 3) which makes it noisy, but easily accessible. The park is very close to downtown STL; about 5 miles. It is in a commercial area, close to East St. Louis, but we felt secure and comfortable. Though small and tightly spaced like most city RV parks, it is well kept. The only two complaints we had was the lack of cable TV and free WiFi. Though the park does have WiFi, there is a daily charge. Service was excellent, and the people were very helpful, courteous and accommodating. We were at first hesitant based on a previous review, but was surprised to be greeted and helped by some of the best parks staffers I have met. We looked at two other RV parks in the STL downtown area, and Cahokia Parque was easily the best. I would highly recommend this park to anyone travelling to or through St. Louis.... |
