Near Sandy Run Lake you hit upon the Beaver Trail which is a glorious hiking trail, and Pine Ridge Campground is a good local campground. There is a splendid hiking trail close to Sandy Run Lake called the River to River Trail, and you'll meet a lot of people from Harrisburg here. This lake is so wonderful. If you       need a spot to stay Super 8 Motel - Harrisburg is a fine choice, and a lake nearby is City Reservoir. A great deal of precipitation falls at Sandy Run Lake; most of the rain falls all through March; the driest month of the year is January. This lake is so wonderful. You don’t have to go far from Sandy Run Lake to catch a sight of the water at Sandy Run Lake Dam; why not camp at Double M Campground while you're here at Sandy Run Lake. Throughout the summer                  months at Sandy Run Lake highs are usually in the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's usually in the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Sandy Run Lake dipping down into the 10's through winter nights.
