Do stop at Hickory Lake near Lake Sallateska, it's a pretty lake, and why not a little side spree to Slade Branch. During the summertime months at Lake Sallateska highs are typically in the 90's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Lake Sallateska. Lake Campalot is a good campground nearby. Lake Sallateska gets a common amount of precipitation;

This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Best Western U. S. Inn is a great place to spend a night or two, and if you came for an overnight stay Sharp Rock Falls Rec is a good place to camp. Super 8 Pinckneyville is a wonderful place to get some rest; you'll hit upon a wonderful lake called Washington County Lake. | |
