     There are plenty of people from Chicago-Naperville-Joliet here at Saganashkee Slough, and a visit to Illinois & Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor is worthwhile. This lake is so wonderful. There's always Papoose Lake Dam to go to near Saganashkee Slough, and get wet paddling on Des Plaines. Saganashkee Slough gets a normal amount of annual precipitation; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is February.  
   So much entertaining stuff to do at Saganashkee Slough, so little time. Take a little journey to Crooked Creek while you're here at Saganashkee Slough; if you need a place to stay The Essence Suites is a delightful choice.
You'll need more than a day to discover everything Saganashkee Slough has to offer, you can camp at Windy City Campground; there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Four Lakes. The warmest time of the year at Saganashkee Slough
 
               arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 60's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 20's; nighttime lows through the winter for Saganashkee Slough tend to be in the 10's. A pretty lake like Saganashkee Slough close to Saganashkee Slough is a perfect place to check out, and Chicago Marriott Southwest at Burr Ridge is a great spot to get some rest.

This lake is so wonderful. Interesting geology is available here; Swallow Cliffs is near Saganashkee Slough. There's so much to do here at Saganashkee Slough that you need to camp here for a while, A-ok Campgrounds Of Frankfort is a tremendous place for that.

While it’s unclear whether the State will put ''trail closed'' signs up, there is no apparent money to maintain them and fallen trees, washouts, and other issues will undoubtedly happen. To inspect for log jams beneath the gravel pit access bridge directly east of Romeoville High School, you are allowed to drive up to, but not ACROSS the bridge, according to a security gaurd at the gravel pit. To check for log jams, I'd park BEFORE the bridge, and get out and walk across the bridge, looking over the railing. Also, there's a spot where you can walk up to the river edge. Facing east, it will be on your right, before the bridge. I'm uploading a photo dated April 12, 2002. It's a view of that bridge, taken from the water, looking southwest....

Villa Olivia is a great place to bring your family specially of you have small kids. It's like a big snow playground. The slope is not very impressive but it's ok for a quick little mini ski trip....
