Slough, it just has so much outdoors amusing stuff. If you need a spot to stay Quality Inn Burr Ridge is a great choice. Through the warmest time of the year, highs ordinarily are in the 80's at Saganashkee Slough. For the period
of the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are mostly in the 20's with temperatures at Saganashkee Slough dipping down into the 10's throughout winter nights.

 | The Governor’s office recently announced that the State of Illinois will be closing the I&M and Hennepin Canal State Parks. While it’s unclear whether the State will put ''trail closed'' signs up, there is no apparent money to maintain them and fallen trees, washouts, and other issues will undoubtedly happen. Please help keep this trail open. To inspect for log jams beneath the gravel pit access bridge directly east of Romeoville High School, you are allowed to drive up to, but not ACROSS the bridge, according to a security gaurd at the gravel pit. To check for log jams, I'd park BEFORE the bridge, and get out and walk across the bridge, looking over the railing. Also, there's a spot where you can walk up to the river edge. Facing east, it will be on your right, before the bridge. I'm uploading a photo dated April 12, 2002. It's a view of that bridge, taken from the water, looking southwest.... |
