               so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is great on Des Plaines. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Saganashkee Slough has to offer, you can camp at A-ok Campgrounds Of Frankfort.
Dry warm beds await you at Marriott Chicago Southwest At Burr Ridge; pretty scenery and perfect skiing is what you obtain at Four Lakes. That right there is loads already, but it continues; Saganashkee Slough has it all. Enjoy a round of golf at Gleneagles Country Club not far from Saganashkee Slough. During the summer at Saganashkee Slough temperatures are generally in the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 60's. During the winter highs are generally in the 20's, and nighttime lows at Saganashkee Slough through the winter mostly fall into the 10's.
And that's not all you can do here at Saganashkee Slough. Swallow Cliffs is an interesting thing to catch a glimpse of since you're here at Saganashkee Slough; Illinois & Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor is a very good spot to stop at. Saganashkee Slough is a good place of typical rainfall; July is when you get the most rain here; February meanwhile is the driest month.

The Governor’s office recently announced that the State of Illinois will be closing the I&M and Hennepin Canal State Parks. While it’s unclear whether the State will put ''trail closed'' signs up, there is no apparent money to maintain them and fallen trees, washouts, and other issues will undoubtedly happen. Please help keep this trail open. Illini campground is permanently closing on Nov. 1,2008 Gov.Blagojevic is closing many nice parks. in region 1, 2, &3 but none in his area....

To inspect for log jams beneath the gravel pit access bridge directly east of Romeoville High School, you are allowed to drive up to, but not ACROSS the bridge, according to a security gaurd at the gravel pit. To check for log jams, I'd park BEFORE the bridge, and get out and walk across the bridge, looking over the railing. Also, there's a spot where you can walk up to the river edge. Facing east, it will be on your right, before the bridge. I'm uploading a photo dated April 12, 2002. It's a view of that bridge, taken from the water, looking southwest....

Villa Olivia is a great place to bring your family specially of you have small kids. It's like a big snow playground. The slope is not very impressive but it's ok for a quick little mini ski trip....
