A glorious site to visit close to Round Lake is Whisky Hollow; a good nearby hotel is Hilton Garden Inn Dubuque Downtown. The amount of rainfall that falls at Round Lake is close to the national average; throughout the month of August you get the most rain around here while January is ordinarily the driest month.       There's so much to do here at Round Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Massey Marina Campgrounds is a delightful site for that; stunning scenery and good skiing is what you obtain at Sundown Mountain. At Round Lake through the summer highs are in the 80's. Summer overnight lows plunge down to the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's while Round Lake night low temperatures during the winter are in the 0's. Here at Round Lake you'll most likely                  meet some folks from Dubuque, and why not take a little trip to Crooked Slough if you're here. This lake is so wonderful. This lake is so wonderful. Skiing at Chestnut Mountain is one of those things you just must do, and most likely you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Switzer Lake is just a very short distance away. Man, is there loads of enjoyable stuff to do close to Round Lake.
