Very pleasant water scenery is available at Mayer Pond Dam in the vicinity of Rogers Lake, and Mayer Pond is a great lake close by. Any time is a nice time at Rogers Lake if you like the outdoors. Rogers Lake is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Injun Joe Campground is a pleasant local campground, and while you're here, you could check out Eagle Slough. so much to do here at Rogers Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Bayview Camper's Park is a fine spot for that. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Hotel Clemens Hannibal is a good site to spend a night or two, and Fall Creek Settling Basin is right here at Rogers Lake.

 | 13 miles away 1 PHOTO In response to keith's note. I've kayaked Cedar Creek several times. During heavy rain events the creek is VERY wild. And while yes it is bony, it's a fun ride.. especially since it's one of the only places to get above a class II ride around quincy. Additionally, DO NOT go to bear creek unless you plan on doing some flat water near where it meets the mississippi river. Any further upstream and you'll be dealing with hostile landowners who aren't aware of the navigability laws in illinois. You'll probably be met by a sherrif on the take out. See uploaded picture of cedar creek a couple of years ago.... |
