The beauty of Rock River attracts many people from all around. Rockton Dam is a place that is next to Rock River, and playing golf is lots of fun at Red Barn Golf Courseorporated. This lake is so wonderful. Pearl Lake is a nearby lake that you could take a look at, and Pearl Lake Supper Club is a great local campground. If you need a location to stay The Beloit Inn is a good choice; there's a pleasant forest called Macktown County Forest Preserve. Ramada

| | Inn Greater Beloit is a tremendous place to get some rest, and you'll probably meet some folks from Rockford here. While you're here at Rock River, you could also go to striking Victoria Lake, and Hulland Spring is an inspiring place to pop by while here. This is no place for people who don’t like to have fun. Turtle Creek Campsite is a great campground nearby, and do take a look at Pecatonica River if you're here at Rock River. This lake is so wonderful. | |

Whitewater paddling is great on Turtle Creek. An average amount of precipitation falls at Rock River; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain; the driest of the months is February. At Rock River during the months
of summer highs are in the 80's, and the nighttime is a bit chillier of course, typically in the 60's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 20's, and after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Rock River drop into the 0's.

Pecatonica River Frst Preserve

Large trees shape and shade the campsites. A boat launch for small boats and canoes, in the lower part of the preserve, provides access to the Pecatonica River. An interpretive booklet is available at the trail head to guide hikers along a 1 1/2 mile nature trail. An additional 8 miles of trail are available to hike at your pleasure. Campers, even on the busiest weekends, can be assured of finding a site in this remote campground, The campground is located four miles northeast of Pecatonica, offering easy access to activities at the Winnebago County Fairgrounds. The campground is open from mid April until mid November,weather permitting. There are 49 sites (4-50 amp and 45- 30 amp hookups), dump station, and horseshoe pits. No firewood may be brought into the campground as a result of the Emerald Ash Borer. Firewood can be purchased at the campground.
