Not far from Pond 60, you'll come across Teal Lake which is a striking lake, and Pond 60 is great enough to spend more than a day at, Marion Campground and RV Park is a great local campground. After a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Marion is a tremendous site to spend a night or two, and camping at Pyramid Acres Campground is always a wonderful experience. Through the warmest time of the year here at Pond       60, high temperatures ordinarily reach the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's; after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Pond 60 sink into the 10's. Pond 60 is a wet place that gets a large amount of precipitation; most of the rain falls through March, and January on the other hand is the driest. Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting things in close proximity                  to Pond 60. Pond 60 is not far at all from Marion-Herrin. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to nearby Marion Reservoir; whitewater paddling is good on Little Grassy Creek. This lake is so wonderful.
