Pond 38 is a rather wet place frequently with lots of precipitation; March is when you get the most rain here; the driest month of the year is January. This lake is so wonderful. Little Grassy Creek has a glorious whitewater paddling spot nearby; playing golf is lots of fun at Crab Orchard Golf Club. At Pond 38 you always meet someone from Marion-Herrin, and Pond       38 is not the only spot close by, Devils Kitchen Lake is a close by lake. That right there is heaps already, but it carries on; Pond 38 has it all. A great close by hotel is Comfort Suites Marion, and Caney Branch is one of the streams nearby that might be worth a visit. Summer at Pond 38 comes with high temperatures in the 80's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight                  here at Pond 38.
