If you're a golfer then a brilliant nearby course is Pistakee Country Club; Pistakee Fishing Club is a brilliant campground nearby. Not far from Pistakee Lake, you'll come across Dunns Lake which is a stunning lake, and Comfort Inn & Suites is a splendid spot to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Pistakee Lake is a great place to visit for more than one day,       Alfred Keil is a great place to camp nearby, and Wilmot mountain is a glorious local ski area. A good close by hotel is Super 8 Motel - Mchenry, and there is a good hiking trail close by called the Volo Bog Interpretive Trail. The amount of rainfall that falls at Pistakee Lake is close to the national average; July is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is February. This place is great, just look at all the exciting stuff to                  do close to Pistakee Lake. Everybody nearby loves skiing at Raging Buffalo Snowboard Park (Snowboarding only - no skiing); why not a little side journey to Nippersink Creek. Taking a little trip to close by Eagle Point is a fine idea, and the top of Bald Knob is easily spotted from Pistakee Lake. High temperatures at Pistakee Lake during the warm days of summer are in the 80's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 20's, and overnight lows at Pistakee Lake during the wintertime regularly descend into the 0's. Any time is a good time at Pistakee Lake if you go for the outdoors. Go for a hike on the Lake Defiance Nature Trail, and a great place for whitewater paddling is White River.
