Peck Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. This lake is so wonderful. A lake nearby is Nelson Lake, and Eagle Brook Country Club is a wonderful golf course close by. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining stuff right next door to Peck Lake. There's so much to do here at Peck Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Buffalo Park Campground is a splendid location for that; Peck Lake is not the only spot close by, Mooseheart

| | Lake is a close by lake. Stay the night at Hide-A-Way Lakes, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Villa Olivia. An average amount of precipitation falls at Peck Lake; most of the rain falls during June, and February meanwhile is the driest month. Fox River; going for a hike on the Fox Ridge Nature Trail is always a nice adventure. For the duration of the summertime highs here at Peck Lake reach the 80's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Peck Lake.

Fox River
 | While there is limited whitewater, the Fox River has many put ins and take outs from just south of Elgin all the way to just north of the confluence of the Fox and the Illinois River. There are miles of quiet country scenery on the section of the river from Yorkville south (about 15 miles) There is an outfitter at the dam in Yorkville (Freeman's Sports)who rents canoes by the day and will provide shuttle service. There are sandstone cliffs near Sheridan. There are campgrounds along the river south of Yorkville for those who want to spend more than one day on the river. Be sure to be aware of where the dams are, they are dangerous. There are no dams south of Yorkville except the Dayton Dam which is a hydroelectric dam that prevents passage beyond Wedron.... |
