Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this spot. You don't must go far from Papoose Lake to enjoy Cherry Hill Woods, and Des Plaines has a brilliant whitewater paddling spot nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Illinois & Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor is a magnificent location in the neighborhood of Papoose Lake, and everybody nearby loves

skiing at Four Lakes. From a rainfall point of view Papoose Lake is a reasonably normal place; the wettest month of the year is regularly July, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is February.
This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Papoose Lake, you could also pop by beautiful Papoose Lake, and do go to Papoose Lake Dam while you're here. All through the warmest time of the year, highs frequently are in the 80's at Papoose Lake. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's, and overnight lows at Papoose Lake all through the wintertime usually fall into the 10's. If you're here at Papoose Lake and you like golf, you can pop by Palos Country Club; unsurprisingly Crooked Creek flows through this area.

To inspect for log jams beneath the gravel pit access bridge directly east of Romeoville High School, you are allowed to drive up to, but not ACROSS the bridge, according to a security gaurd at the gravel pit. To check for log jams, I'd park BEFORE the bridge, and get out and walk across the bridge, looking over the railing. Also, there's a spot where you can walk up to the river edge. Facing east, it will be on your right, before the bridge. I'm uploading a photo dated April 12, 2002. It's a view of that bridge, taken from the water, looking southwest....
