At Orland Lake you always meet someone from Chicago-Naperville-Joliet, and if you came to camp Windy City Campground is a great place to do that. Not far from Orland Lake you can enjoy the trees of Cherry Hill Woods, and a glorious close by hotel is The Essence Suites. Orland Lake gets a typical amount of precipitation; during July this area sees the most rain; February meanwhile is the driest month. Playing golf is lots of fun at Palos Country Club, and in

Camping at A-ok Campgrounds Of Frankfort is always a perfect experience; while you're here at Orland Lake, checking out Swallow Cliffs is a must. This location is unbeatable, just check out all the cool stuff to do close to Orland
Lake. This lake is so wonderful. The skiing at Four Lakes is wonderful, and Homewood Suites by Hilton Orland Park is a perfect spot to get some rest. High temperatures at Orland Lake through the warm days of summer are in the
80's; the night is slightly cooler of course, typically in the 60's. During the winter highs are ordinarily in the 20's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Orland Lake temperatures descend to the 10's.

While it’s unclear whether the State will put ''trail closed'' signs up, there is no apparent money to maintain them and fallen trees, washouts, and other issues will undoubtedly happen.  | 14 miles away 1 PHOTO To inspect for log jams beneath the gravel pit access bridge directly east of Romeoville High School, you are allowed to drive up to, but not ACROSS the bridge, according to a security gaurd at the gravel pit. To check for log jams, I'd park BEFORE the bridge, and get out and walk across the bridge, looking over the railing. Also, there's a spot where you can walk up to the river edge. Facing east, it will be on your right, before the bridge. I'm uploading a photo dated April 12, 2002. It's a view of that bridge, taken from the water, looking southwest.... |
