Custom Search     Old Gillespie Lake     You must be on new lake, which yes there is a lot of big boats trolling around, but old lake on the north end, is a much better fishing/family environment, if you have a boat that is. and old lake is considered the best cat fishing lake in Illinois. plus its not overcrowded. I've fished there and it was a blast. I caught crappy bluegill bass and some whopping catfish.. good luck and hope you change your mind Says Austin Since Ron and John are no longer     there and no security, I won't take my family back there. The place is a mess. And with all the big boats you can't even fish any more. Wake up Gillespie city council, your loosing a lot of revenue. and good people. Shame on you.
