This lake is so wonderful. A delightful nearby hotel is Super 8 Du Quoin, and if you get bored of New Cherry Lake you could also stop at nearby Cherry Lake. High temperatures at New Cherry Lake all through the summer months are in the 80's. Summer night lows descend down to the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs       in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 20's to New Cherry Lake. Red Hawk Country Club is a golf course close to New Cherry Lake. There's so much to do here at New Cherry Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Bates Campground is a glorious place for that. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Pinckneyville is a tremendous place to spend a night or two, and New Cherry Lake Dam is not far at all from New Cherry Lake.
