Going for a hike along the Lake Defiance Nature Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region; why not spend some time golfing at a close by golf course like Fox Lake Country Club. This is no spot for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. A day on the slopes of Wilmot mountain is just what you need, and Mud Lake is right by the Tamarack View Trail.       Island On The Chain RV Park is a wonderful local campground; a perfect nearby hotel is Comfort Inn & Suites Antioch. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Mud Lake with overnight lows in the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Mud Lake. That right there is lots already, but it carries on; Mud Lake has it all. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Richmond is a wonderful spot to spend a night or two; hiking                  along the Volo Bog Interpretive Trail is magnificent fun. An average amount of precipitation falls at Mud Lake; July is when you get the most rain here, and February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Some close by water includes Nippersink Creek, and Dunns Lake is a glorious lake close by. This lake is so wonderful. There are other spots here than Mud Lake, for example Turner Lake, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Raging Buffalo Snowboard Park (Snowboarding only - no skiing) is relatively near.
