It's always fun to stop by Milliken Lake. Milliken Lake is right by the Tallgrass Nature Trail, and a spree to Illinois & Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor is recommended. You believe that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Camping at Lakepoint Club is always a wonderful experience, and not far from Milliken Lake you'll hit upon Kemery Lake which is a charming lake.  | 16 miles away 1 PHOTO To inspect for log jams beneath the gravel pit access bridge directly east of Romeoville High School, you are allowed to drive up to, but not ACROSS the bridge, according to a security gaurd at the gravel pit. To check for log jams, I'd park BEFORE the bridge, and get out and walk across the bridge, looking over the railing. Also, there's a spot where you can walk up to the river edge.
