Summertime at Lake Mendota arrives with high       temperatures in the 80's with overnight lows in the 60's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Lake Mendota are in the 0's. During your tour to Lake Mendota you'll meet some people from Ottawa-Streator for sure; you can run the rapids of Tomahawk Creek. Dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn Mendota, and do stop at Lake Mendota Dam since you're here. This lake is so wonderful. Little Vermilion River is a wonderful                  whitewater spot right next door to Lake Mendota; if you're here, you could also check out gorgeous Leake Lake.
