     Why not camp at Valley View Mobile Home Park since you're here at Martin Lake, and Lock and Dam Number Twenty is an attention-grabbing thing to check out. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this location. If you need a site to stay Comfort Inn Canton is a nice choice; naturally Bear Creek is a charming stream that is worth checking out. This lake is so wonderful. Get your heart beating on the tremendous whitewater of Cedar Creek; Days Inn Quincy is a great  
   location to get some rest. Martin Lake is a good place of typical rainfall; through July this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is February.
Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Bear Creek; almost certainly you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Lloyd Lake North is just a very short distance away. City of Keokuk Campground is a brilliant local campground, and naturally, this is a wonderful neighborhood
 
               for people who like lakes, Indian Grave Lake is a lake close by. This lake is so wonderful.
Take a look at close by Lima Slough; during your spree here you'll meet some folks from Quincy for sure. Summertime highs at Martin Lake mostly tend to be in the 80's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 60's. Daytime highs all through the winter are in the 30's; after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures at Martin Lake dip into the 10's.

In response to keith's note. I've kayaked Cedar Creek several times. During heavy rain events the creek is VERY wild. And while yes it is bony, it's a fun ride.. especially since it's one of the only places to get above a class II ride around quincy. Additionally, DO NOT go to bear creek unless you plan on doing some flat water near where it meets the mississippi river. Any further upstream and you'll be dealing with hostile landowners who aren't aware of the navigability laws in illinois. You'll probably be met by a sherrif on the take out. See uploaded picture of cedar creek a couple of years ago....
