Wilmot mountain is a great location to do that, and Faith Evangelical Lutheran School is a nearby lake that you could check out. At Loon Lake through the days of summer highs are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Loon Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Do check out East Loon Lake near Loon Lake, it's a wonderful lake, and why not       camp at Old Port Cove Marina while you're here at Loon Lake. If you need a place to stay Comfort Suites Grayslake is a nice choice, and the friendly folks of Racine like to hang out nearby. This is no spot for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. Hiking along the Tamarack View Trail is magnificent fun, and in the event that you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Pike River. This lake is so wonderful.                  Have a splendid hiking adventure along the Volo Bog Interpretive Trail, and after a long day outdoors Comfort Inn & Suites Antioch is a great place to spend a night or two. Grass Lake Marina and RV Park is a tremendous local campground; stunning scenery and good skiing is what you obtain at Raging Buffalo Snowboard Park (Snowboarding only - no skiing). The annual rain here at Loon Lake is about average; through the month of August you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is February.
