Illinois has many beautiful lakes and Long Lake is one of them. This lake is so wonderful. Golf can be played at Arlington Golf Course, and there are other locations here than Long Lake, for example Horseshoe Lake. Long Lake gets a typical amount of rain; the month with most of the rain is May while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. The great folks of St. Louis like to hang out close by, and a perfect location to camp here at Long

If only every place had this much outdoors exciting things, what a great globe it would be. Lakes? Sure, Long Lake is in the neighborhood, and a pleasant spot for whitewater paddling is Mississippi River. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Long Lake. Throughout the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's while the cold winter nights at Long Lake are in the 10's.

by hotel is Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Pontoon Beach, Il; Long Lake is splendid enough to spend more than a day at, Lakeside Camping is a splendid local campground. If you need a place to stay Pontoon Beach Il/St Louis, Mo Area is a great choice, and Dobrey Slough is an out of the ordinary swamp close to Long Lake.

Cahokia RV Parque

We spent a couple of nights at the Cahokia RV Parque recently and we were very satisfied. The location is off of a main road (IL 3) which makes it noisy, but easily accessible. The park is very close to downtown STL; about 5 miles. It is in a commercial area, close to East St. Louis, but we felt secure and comfortable. Though small and tightly spaced like most city RV parks, it is well kept. The only two complaints we had was the lack of cable TV and free WiFi. Though the park does have WiFi, there is a daily charge. Service was excellent, and the people were very helpful, courteous and accommodating. We were at first hesitant based on a previous review, but was surprised to be greeted and helped by some of the best parks staffers I have met. We looked at two other RV parks in the STL downtown area, and Cahokia Parque was easily the best. I would highly recommend this park to anyone travelling to or through St. Louis.... |
