Why not stop by Lily Pond if you're passing through these parts. This lake is so wonderful. At Lily Pond you always meet someone from Hannibal, and a brilliant location for whitewater paddling is Cedar Creek. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by close by Clear Lake, and Econo Lodge Hannibal is a wonderful spot to get some rest. Be careful coming to Lily Pond, you might not ever wanna go home again. American Legion Golf Course is

| | a splendid golf course nearby, and there's some flowing water nearby, Bird Slough is a stream you can pop by during your stay.
If you need a site to stay Hannibal Travelodge is a wonderful choice; you can run the rapids of Fall Creek. During the summer months at Lily Pond highs are ordinarily in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 30's while Lily Pond nighttime low temperatures throughout | |

the winter are in the 10's. This is a great neighborhood for people who like lakes. Circle Pond is a lake in the neighborhood. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Lily Pond has to offer, you can camp at Injun Joe Campground.
Stay the night at Bayview Camper's Park. The amount of rainfall that falls at Lily Pond is close to the national average; July is the month that gets the most rain; January is the month with the least moisture.

In response to keith's note. I've kayaked Cedar Creek several times. During heavy rain events the creek is VERY wild. And while yes it is bony, it's a fun ride.. especially since it's one of the only places to get above a class II ride around quincy. Additionally, DO NOT go to bear creek unless you plan on doing some flat water near where it meets the mississippi river. Any further upstream and you'll be dealing with hostile landowners who aren't aware of the navigability laws in illinois. You'll probably be met by a sherrif on the take out.
