From a rain point of view Lake of the Hills is a reasonably common place; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain while February is commonly the driest month. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to nearby Lynnwood Lake, and Lake of the Hills is a place with many visitors from Davenport-Moline-Rock Island. This lake is so wonderful.

When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 60's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 20's; all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Lake of the Hills temperatures dip to the 10's. Everybody nearby loves skiing at Ski Snowstar; if you came to camp Shady Lakes Campground is a fine place to do that.
