If you need a place to stay Comfort Suites Marion is a wonderful choice, and lots of people from Marion-Herrin come here. Be careful coming to Lake Como, you might not ever want to go home again. | | 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 60's. During the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Lake Como are in the 10's. Lake Como Dam has glorious water scenery and it's near Lake Como. Lakes? Sure, Pleasant Valley Lake is nearby. This lake is so wonderful. There are other places here than Lake Como, for example Herrin Lake; Little Grassy Lake Campground & Marina is a great campground nearby. Lake Como regularly gets a lot of rainfall; March is when you get the most rain here; the driest of the months is January.

Buck Ridge Campground
 | 10 miles away Buck Ridge Campground was closed in 2007 and I'm very upset to see that happen. The area is depressed and could really benefit from this wonderful campground. You can still hike in but we will miss our trips and the wonderful memories that awaited us. I'm truly upset about this loss. The park is gorgeous. I hope to see an outpouring of requests to reopen this national treasure.... |
