Not far from Lake Charleston you obtain some perfect water scenery at Riverview Dam, and a quick trip to Kickapoo Creek is without doubt a brilliant idea. Ridge Lake is a perfect lake near Lake Charleston, and camping is available at Hebron Hills Camping. After a long day outdoors Charleston Days Inn is a good place to spend a night or two, and if you're visiting from Charleston-Mattoon, you won't       be the only one. The yearly rainfall here at Lake Charleston is about average; July is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is January. This lake is so wonderful. Bent Tree Golf Course is a golf course near Lake Charleston, and camping at Spring Haven Campground is always a good experience. For the period of the summertime at Lake Charleston highs are usually in the 80's with night lows in the 60's.
