Illinois has many beautiful lakes and Kemery Lake is one of them. Kemery Lake is a place with many visitors from Kankakee-Bradley, and Green Fields Campground is a great local campground. You just must like Kemery Lake. After a long day outdoors Red Roof Inn Joliet is a wonderful place to spend a night or two, and Channahon Park District Heritage Bluffs Public Golf Club is a nice golf course close by. This lake is so wonderful. This lake is so wonderful.

| | Do check out Milliken Lake near Kemery Lake, it's a wonderful lake, and the scenery at Kemery Lake Dam is picturesque. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Des Plaines; Kemery Lake is a good place to visit for more than one day, Starting Line Campground is a good place to camp nearby. rainfall; June is the wettest month with most rain, and January on the other hand is the driest. There are good spots to explore along the Tallgrass Nature Trail, and don't miss out on a spree to Illinois & Michigan Canal National
Heritage Corridor while you're here. Summertime highs at Kemery Lake regularly tend to be in the 80's. Summer night lows fall down to the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Kemery Lake temperatures drop to the 10's.

 | 12 miles away 1 PHOTO To inspect for log jams beneath the gravel pit access bridge directly east of Romeoville High School, you are allowed to drive up to, but not ACROSS the bridge, according to a security gaurd at the gravel pit. To check for log jams, I'd park BEFORE the bridge, and get out and walk across the bridge, looking over the railing. Also, there's a spot where you can walk up to the river edge. Facing east, it will be on your right, before the bridge. I'm uploading a photo dated April 12, 2002. It's a view of that bridge, taken from the water, looking southwest.... |
