     A tour to Illinois & Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor is worthwhile, and if you've had enough of Lake Kadijah, Lake Kadijah is nearby. This lake is so wonderful. If you're visiting Lake Kadijah from Chicago-Naperville-Joliet, you won't be the only one, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Villa Olivia since you're here. Having a nice time at Lake Kadijah is painless. After a long day outdoors Eaglewood Resort and Spa is a brilliant  
   spot to spend a night or two; Lake Kadijah Dam is stunning. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Lake Kadijah that you need to camp here for a while, Green River Oaks is a wonderful site for that; get yourself into a kayak and hit Fox River.
For the duration of the warm days of summer at Lake Kadijah highs are ordinarily in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 60's. High temperatures during the winter are
 
               normally in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Lake Kadijah. If you came to camp E Z Go is a brilliant spot to do that, and while you're here you can play some golf at Bloomingdale Golf Club. Get soaked paddling on Des Plaines, and do stop at Meacham Creek if you're here at Lake Kadijah.
If you need a place to stay Holiday Inn CHICAGO WEST-ITASCA is a perfect choice. Nearby lakes? Sure, Turner Pond is right next door to Lake Kadijah, and skiing at Four Lakes is one of those things you just ought to do. A common amount of rainfall falls here at Lake Kadijah; August is when you get the most rain here, and February is the month with the least moisture.

To inspect for log jams beneath the gravel pit access bridge directly east of Romeoville High School, you are allowed to drive up to, but not ACROSS the bridge, according to a security gaurd at the gravel pit. To check for log jams, I'd park BEFORE the bridge, and get out and walk across the bridge, looking over the railing. Also, there's a spot where you can walk up to the river edge. Facing east, it will be on your right, before the bridge. I'm uploading a photo dated April 12, 2002. It's a view of that bridge, taken from the water, looking southwest....

While it’s unclear whether the State will put ''trail closed'' signs up, there is no apparent money to maintain them and fallen trees, washouts, and other issues will undoubtedly happen. Fox River

While there is limited whitewater, the Fox River has many put ins and take outs from just south of Elgin all the way to just north of the confluence of the Fox and the Illinois River. There are miles of quiet country scenery on the section of the river from Yorkville south (about 15 miles) There is an outfitter at the dam in Yorkville (Freeman's Sports)who rents canoes by the day and will provide shuttle service. There are sandstone cliffs near Sheridan. There are campgrounds along the river south of Yorkville for those who want to spend more than one day on the river. Be sure to be aware of where the dams are, they are dangerous. There are no dams south of Yorkville except the Dayton Dam which is a hydroelectric dam that prevents passage beyond Wedron....
