If you are traveling by, why not stop by Jug Lake. During the months of summer at Jug Lake highs are usually in the 80's while overnight lows are commonly in the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 30's while Jug Lake overnight low temperatures through the winter are in the 10's. Why not take a look at Jug Lake Dam since you're here; a round of golf at nearby Cedar Crest Country Club is a good way to kill some time. the driest of the months is February. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Bear Creek, and if you came to camp Valley View Mobile Home Park is a great place to do that.

 | 1 PHOTO In response to keith's note. I've kayaked Cedar Creek several times. During heavy rain events the creek is VERY wild. And while yes it is bony, it's a fun ride.. especially since it's one of the only places to get above a class II ride around quincy. Additionally, DO NOT go to bear creek unless you plan on doing some flat water near where it meets the mississippi river. Any further upstream and you'll be dealing with hostile landowners who aren't aware of the navigability laws in illinois. You'll probably be met by a sherrif on the take out.
