Summertime highs at Island Lake ordinarily tend to be in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 60's. For the period of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Island Lake. A magnificent site for whitewater paddling near Island Lake is Fox River; the Lake Defiance Trail is a good hiking trail close by. This       lake is so wonderful. You can never get enough of the splendid skiing at Villa Olivia. There's so much to do here at Island Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Buffalo Park Campground is a great site for that. There is a good hiking trail close to Island Lake called the Lake Defiance Nature Trail, and Island Lake is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, E Z Go is a brilliant local campground. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await                  you at Pheasant Run Resort & Spa. This place, Island Lake, it absolutely has so much outdoors exciting stuff. After a long day outdoors Marriott Chicago Northwest is a perfect location to spend a night or two, and close by you'll find a wooded area called Wayne Grove County Forest Preserve. Really brilliant skiing awaits you at Raging Buffalo Snowboard Park (Snowboarding only - no skiing); Bartlett Hills Golf Club is a great golf course nearby. This is a popular location for folks from Chicago-Naperville-Joliet; if the weather is perfect, you can go for a hike along the Fox River Trail.
