What a nice lake Indian Grave Lake is. If you need a place to stay Quincy - Days Inn is a great choice. Lakes? Sure, Martin Lake is around here. Man, is there a heap of enjoyable things to do right next door to Indian Grave Lake. There's some flowing water close by, Bear Creek is a stream you can have a look at while you're here, and at Indian Grave Lake you always meet someone from Quincy. If you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Bear Creek, and there are other places here than Indian Grave Lake, for example Lima Lake. A good swamp near Indian Grave Lake is Corner Slough, and Microtel Quincy is a fine location to get some rest. If you came to camp Whispering Oaks Campgrounds is a great location | |

to do that. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Indian Grave Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Valley View Mobile Home Park is a nice spot for that, and Cedar Creek has a great whitewater paddling
spot nearby. All through the long summer days highs here at Indian Grave Lake get into the 80's while nighttime lows are commonly in the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's while Indian Grave Lake night low temperatures through the winter are in the 10's.

Cedar Creek
 | 1 PHOTO In response to keith's note. I've kayaked Cedar Creek several times. During heavy rain events the creek is VERY wild. And while yes it is bony, it's a fun ride.. especially since it's one of the only places to get above a class II ride around quincy. Additionally, DO NOT go to bear creek unless you plan on doing some flat water near where it meets the mississippi river. Any further upstream and you'll be dealing with hostile landowners who aren't aware of the navigability laws in illinois. You'll probably be met by a sherrif on the take out.
