     This is a magnificent neighborhood for people who like lakes. Martin Lake is a lake close by; a nice swamp in close proximity to Indian Grave Lake is Corner Slough. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are magnificent; Lima Lake is a lake that's near Indian Grave Lake, and getting to Bear Creek from Indian Grave Lake is uncomplicated. Summertime highs at Indian Grave Lake frequently tend to be in the 80's with overnight lows in the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime  
   come with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Indian Grave Lake dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. If you come at the right time of year, Cedar Creek offers some great whitewater, and you're sure to bump into some fine people from Quincy here.
So many enjoyable things near Indian Grave Lake, truly astonishing. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Bear Creek; if you came for an overnight stay Valley View Mobile Home Park is a good place to
 
               camp. A great close by hotel is Days Inn Quincy, and Whispering Oaks Campgrounds is a great campground nearby. If you need a spot to stay Comfort Inn Canton is a delightful choice.
Indian Grave Lake gets a typical amount of yearly precipitation; through July this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is February.

In response to keith's note. I've kayaked Cedar Creek several times. During heavy rain events the creek is VERY wild. And while yes it is bony, it's a fun ride.. especially since it's one of the only places to get above a class II ride around quincy. Additionally, DO NOT go to bear creek unless you plan on doing some flat water near where it meets the mississippi river. Any further upstream and you'll be dealing with hostile landowners who aren't aware of the navigability laws in illinois. You'll probably be met by a sherrif on the take out. See uploaded picture of cedar creek a couple of years ago....
