A lake close by is Lake Strini, and if you came to camp Martin Campground-joliet is a nice place to do that. A common amount of rain falls here at Illinois Waterway; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain, and February is when it's the driest. Dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Joliet/Chicago/I-80, and Lockport Powerhouse and Controling Work Dam is a delightful place, beyond doubt worth visiting. This lake is so wonderful. | | Resort is always a wonderful experience; Brandon Road Pool is a nearby lake that you could pop by. Glide down the rapids of Des Plaines in a kayak, and you can never get enough of the good skiing at Four Lakes. For the period of the days of summer at Illinois Waterway temperatures are mostly in the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 60's. Waterway are in the 10's. If the weather is splendid here at Illinois Waterway, you can go for a hike along the Tallgrass Nature Trail, and why not take a little trip to Fraction Run while you're here. This lake is so wonderful.
If you need a spot to stay Comfort Inn South is a fine choice; during your visit here you'll meet some folks from Chicago-Naperville-Joliet for sure. Having a pleasant time at Illinois Waterway is uncomplicated. Illinois & Michigan
Canal National Heritage Corridor is a glorious place close to Illinois Waterway; Prairie Bluff Public Golf Club is a great golf course close by.

 | 1 PHOTO To inspect for log jams beneath the gravel pit access bridge directly east of Romeoville High School, you are allowed to drive up to, but not ACROSS the bridge, according to a security gaurd at the gravel pit. To check for log jams, I'd park BEFORE the bridge, and get out and walk across the bridge, looking over the railing. Also, there's a spot where you can walk up to the river edge. Facing east, it will be on your right, before the bridge. I'm uploading a photo dated April 12, 2002. It's a view of that bridge, taken from the water, looking southwest.... |

While it’s unclear whether the State will put ''trail closed'' signs up, there is no apparent money to maintain them and fallen trees, washouts, and other issues will undoubtedly happen.
